Stephen Belcher is the Echocardiographer for the GCRC Echo Lab. He holds a current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers(ARDMS). Stephen is the Denver, Colorado area GCRC's full time human subject research ultrasound technician. He performs resting and stress echocardiograms, as well as some brachial, femoral, and carotid arterial imaging.
In 2006 the GCRC purchased a GE Vivid 7 Dimension with 2D and 3D cardiac transducers, and 2D vascular and intra-cavity transducers. Other features include:
- tissue Doppler (Tissue Velocity Imaging)
- strain, synchronization, and tracking
- echoPac workstation with full tissue Doppler quantification and IMT capability
- capabilities to export studies digitally in GE or DICOM format to CD, DVD, MO disk
- capabilities to record studies on SVHS tape
