As the UCHSC GCRC Core Laboratory, our mission is to provide comprehensive and sophisticated analytical testing to enhance and facilitate human research. The Core Laboratory is available to develop and provide a broad spectrum of high complexity chemical and immunological non-routine assays for approved GCRC protocols. These assays are intended to complement procedures undertaken by the investigator and often are neither available in the hospital clinical laboratory, nor conveniently available elsewhere.

The laboratory is fully equipped and routinely measures various peptides and hormones by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), radioimmunoassay (RIA), enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA), and enzymatic colorimetry, real time PCR (RT-PCR), and point-of-care testing (POCT).
